This was a project done in partnership with Madhouse Motors, a custom motorcycle shop in Boston.

The design of the triple tree is fairly simple. The requisite dimensions from the original part (for a 70's Honda CB550) were measured, and a new part was modeled. I made drawings for Madhouse Motors so that even if I was no longer around (had moved, etc.) they could still convey the information needed for others to build more parts.

GibbsCAM was used to program the tool paths for the CNC milling operations.

The 6061 Aluminum triple tree profile was CNC milled in a Sharp 3 Axis vertical machining center. Secondary operations (through holes for the bolts, and the counterbores) were done manually on a Bridgeport mill.
